Sometimes I wonder if I'm being too strict or overly protective. I had to make a decision regarding my gentlemen that had me wondering why my perspective is different than someone I respect. I try to hold our gentlemen to certain standards. I know I am not perfect in doing so, but in this particular decision I refuse to budge even a few degrees.

Don't Budge! You are an awesome and I am so proud of your efforts in raising righteous and great kids and you are doing just that! I am grateful there are Moms still willing to that. Standards are not a variable, Big Hugs to you and your awesome gents!
