I did it!

"Everyone who got where he is
had to begin where he was."
~ Robert Louis Stevenson

I happened to be talking to someone on Sunday that asked me about school and my future plans. When I mentioned that I am interested in grant writing. He told me that he wished he'd known that earlier because he had to travel some distance to find a grant writer for one of his projects. Frankly, I was surprised to hear he couldn't find a grant writer locally.

I've been saying for some time that I was considering becoming a freelance grant writer. Today I am finally taking that step. I sent out my first letters to offer my services to organizations that I know have a need. I'm blogging about it mostly to keep myself from chickening out.

"I like thinking big...
if you're going to be thinking anyway,
you might as well think big."
~ Donald Trump

That is a GREAT idea! That way you can do a little here and there even if/when you get a full time position.

I am so Proud of YOU!

Good Luck! My dad took classes for that and still gets work here and there. It is a very useful skill!

I must admit that I do not know exactly what a grant writer does, but if anyone can do it, you can. I am very proud of you. ( i sound so motherly:)
