I am reminded this morning of the words of my band director, Mr. Citta. Stormin' tells me that he still shakes his head, turns slightly to the side, and says, "You can't fix stupid." I can still see him in my mind. I wanted to scream the phrase out my window, but I did restrain myself.
There were several parents (intelligence level obviously has nothing to do with the ability to reproduce) who decided that it was too far to walk from an actual parking spot in the light rain with their little darlings. Instead, they parked smack in the middle of the circle drive that is designated for dropping off children. Mind you, there are NO PARKING signs posted but perhaps these people can't read.
After about 15 minutes of a dead stand still in traffic (on the road leading up to the school, not even in the circle drive) I finally let Panda hop out and walk across the street. Even the school bus couldn't get through! After 20 minutes, some staff members came out to try to direct traffic. (Too little, too late.) In total, I spent 35 minutes stuck in gridlock before the offenders finally came back out of the building and moved their cars. Ugh!

Grrr...I would have been annoyed too! (I suffer from a mild form of road-rage - maybe more accurately severe road annoyance - so that would have pushed my buttons too!)
I was stuck also! I couldn't believe the craziness at that school! I finally drove on the curb so I could get through and go to the back parking lot. Not a good start to the school year!!! The principal finally made an announcement for parents to move their cars. I didn't know you had Mr. Citta too. When do you want to play in sacrament meeting with your new flute!?!?! :)
We unfortunately deal with this at my son's school for the first week or two as well. We are very much a "North to drop off, South to pick up" school. And it is so frustrating when someone parks in the drop-off lane to "run in for just a minute".
Hopefully it has figured itself out and there won't be any more traffic jams.
lol... poor people! At least they're sending their kids to school so that they don't perpetuate their ignorance...
:D
