Our crazy life...

Chad is working 7 days a week and starting tomorrow night, he's lucky enough to start 12 hour shifts. He's also keeping busy helping out at a car wash and at a friend's body shop. The car stuff is just part of who he is and there's no sense fighting it.

Michael is oh-so-close to finishing his mission papers. One more appointment and a picture, then I think he's all set before he moves on to interviews. Today he spent a good deal of time helping Kodi to change the brakes on his car ... and then putting them back on after finding out the auto parts store gave them the wrong parts. It's fun to see them doing this on their own.

Kodi is planning his life after high school. He is very excited to be training as a line cook at Roux Orleans and has been getting some great advice from the head chef there about schooling and his career path. Go, Chef Kodi!

William had the end of year celebration for JROTC on Friday night. Surprisingly enough, he does not want to continue. Considering his lifelong fascination with anything military, I am shocked. But, he is pleased to be working and earning money to fix up his car (one of his other life passions that surely runs in his blood, courtesy of Chad).

Jonathan is keeping me on my toes as the most social teenager we've experienced so far. He's getting ready for a fun scout encampment this summer and is looking forward to moving on to high school in the fall with all the new experiences that will bring.

Andrew can't wait for the end of the school year. I think he will be spending great gobs of time at the public library where he can find books that really interest him and provide more of a challenge than those in the school library.

Oscar and Frankie will be happy to have more attention with the gents home this summer. The old dog is still putting up with the young pup quite well. They wrestle and romp around a lot ... nothing new in this predominately male household.

I have enjoyed a whole week off from school and the break has been heavenly. Monday, I'm diving back in with class every Monday and Thursday evening until mid July. Following that is another course lasting until the end of August ... when fall semester will begin. I just keep reminding myself that if I keep plugging along, I'll be ready to graduate next May. Just in time for the mad rush of getting everything ready for Kodi's high school graduation!
