It was very congested since it was the weekend of the Apple Festival. In spite of this, we actually bumped into a few friends along the way. It's always fun to share family adventures with our friends. (Plus, it helps the kids to know we really aren't the only family in the world that does these things.)
Stormin' missed our big adventure since he had a band competition. It's surely a sign that he is getting older and more independent when we can't find a free Saturday with him during the entire apple harvest season. *sigh*
Our annual family trip is never quite complete without several stops. First, is the smoked fish. This is the stop when I stay outside and let the men in my family enjoy their shopping adventure. (Ick!) I did get some cute pics with the alligator out front. :)

Then there were stops for cheese curds, baskets, the farmer's market, and pumpkins...all before we got to the apples! We finished with a picnic lunch after the orchard.
We decided to take an alternate route home after hitting detours in the morning. This led us to Oelwein where MustangMan spotted a discount grocery store. Moose noticed the huge soup can out front and insisted he and his brothers take advantage of this photo opportunity. (I said I'll have to photoshop Stormin' in later, but that hasn't happened yet.)
The trip actually wore Big-J out. He was diagnosed with mono this week. I guess he's been spending too much time swapping cooties with Stormin'. Big-J ended up sleeping for a long time today. Hopefully he will be feeling better tomorrow.
As for Stormin's band competition...they took 2nd Place! Hooray! The big competition is next Saturday when they go to Valley Fest. Cross your fingers....
