Punxsutawney Phil, the Seer of Seers, Prognosticator of all Prognosticators,
Rose to the call of President Bill Cooper and greeted his handlers, Ben Hughes and John Griffiths.
After casting a weather eye toward thousands of his faithful followers,
After casting a weather eye toward thousands of his faithful followers,
Phil consulted with President Cooper and directed him to the appropriate scroll, which proclaimed:
"As I look around me, a bright sky I see, and a shadow beside me.
"As I look around me, a bright sky I see, and a shadow beside me.
Six more weeks of winter it will be!"
Winter is precisely what I see today. School has been closed yet again. (Can you hear the gentlemen cheering in the background?) The city has declared a snow emergency to deal with all of the lovely, white, fluffy stuff that has been steadily falling since yesterday. The weather man says it's coming down at the rate of 2" per hour right now. It looks like we're headed for a white Valentine's Day ... and yet I'm dreaming of the green of SPRING!
In the mean time, I'm enjoying a couple of books for my leadership class. Last week I finished The Leadership Challenge by Kouzes & Posner. Excellent book! Reading it led me to a new brain child for a book. (I still dream of publishing, but have not yet finished an entire book. I have several beginnings, one of which would go nicely with my new idea. Maybe I'll combine them and actually finish. Then I would have to see if I could actually get published -- that's a whole other blog.)
Yesterday I began reading a book whose title makes many people want to read it. Dealing with People You Can't Stand will be my pleasure to read, but our professor keeps telling us we have to wait and read with the class. We'll see if I can be patient enough to follow her pace. MustangMan wants me to clue him in on each chapter as we go.
And speaking of my professor... I should probably finish getting ready for school since the university did not close. And I need to give the orders to the gentlemen to keep them from going stir crazy today. When I get back we'll probably make some cookies. I believe baking is part of the snow day tradition. Happy Snow Day!

How neat to want to publish something and have that be a dream. It has always been mine too but I have nothing to write about. Good luck.
